DGX - Breaking Alert
9/20/2024
In preparation for a potential Longshoremen's Association (ILA) strike on the U.S. East and Gulf Coast, all major ocean carriers have announced surcharges to help address potential disruptions and added pressure on West Coast ports.
Unfortunately, there is no apparent progress in breaking the impasse between the ILA and the US Maritime Alliance (USMX). A labor disruption will have a significant impact on all major supply chains in North America.
DGX has to announce a $20.00 Minimum or per WM Port Congestion Surcharge for all LCL cargo departing from the U.S. on or after October 1, 2024 to Australia and New Zealand. This surcharge will only be applicable in the event of a strike.
DGX continues to monitor the situation very closely and we are all hoping for a resolution before the 30th September deadline set by ILA.
Please get in touch with your DGX team for the latest information and planning assistance to minimize disruptions to your supply chain.
